Here is the simple answer, how much loss can you tolerate. Keep your portfolio in Stocks or move them all in cash. Once you move all in cash, plan out when will you enter the market again such as when Dow moves up two weeks in a row, I will put all my money in the market again.

Simple.

If you can trade day in and day out, use your rules.
